اسٹاک ہوم: ایرانی صحافی، معروف سماجی کارکن اور انسانی حقوق کی ایک تنظیم کی نائب صدر نرگس محمدی کو اس سال کے امن کے نوبل انعام سے نوازا گیا ہے۔
نوبل کمیٹی نے جمعہ کو یہ اطلاع دی۔ کمیٹی نے لکھا، "نوبل کمیٹی نے ایران میں خواتین کے ساتھ ہونے والے جبر کے خلاف جدوجہد اورسب کے لئے انسانی حقوق اور آزادی کو فروغ دینے کی ان کی لڑائی کے لئے نرگس محمدی کو 2023 کا نوبل امن انعام دینے کا فیصلہ کیا ہے۔”
نوبل کمیٹی کے سربراہ نے ملک میں خواتین کی ہراسانی کے خلاف 51 سالہ محترمہ محمدی کی جدوجہد کی تعریف کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ وہ ایک ‘آزادی کی جنگجو’ ہیں۔
وہ اس وقت تہران کی بدنام زمانہ ایون جیل میں طویل سزا کاٹ رہی ہیں – کمیٹی نے کہا کہ اسے امید ہے کہ ایران جلد ہی اسے رہا کر دے گا۔
یہ ایوارڈ ایران میں خواتین کی قیادت میں ایک سال سے زیادہ کے احتجاج کے بعد دیا گیا ہے۔
محترمہ محمدی کے اہل خانہ نے کہا کہ یہ ایوارڈ ‘ایران کی آزادی کی لڑائی کے لیے تاریخی اور جذباتی کرنے والا’ ہے۔
